Looking for some studly Haunted Halloween costume themes?

It's never too early to think about what to wear for All Hallows Eve.

Some guys go in drag, others find accessories from their daily fetish life and re-invent these items into something hot and daring.

Here are some promising suggestions. Feel free to introduce your own and share.

Be daring, but be hairy and hot.

Changing seasons, changing men

Now that it is autumn, the seasons are changing, and so is the landscape of men.

Men do change with the seasons. I sure do.

Mentally, you feel more of a need to prepare for the coming temperature changes, the darker days, shifting into hibernation mode.

More buddy bonding, less sweat and more clothes.

The transition is here. Let's adapt and enjoy.

"We Were Here" A powerful reminder that the fight is far from over

We Were Here

The AIDS crisis forever changed gay culture in San Francisco, as examined in this absorbing documentary from David Weissman, who explores the disease's impact on five individuals. Vintage film clips accompany their sobering stories.

It got me thinking. Safer sex has saved millions of us. Countless organizations who first fought for treatment and then educated us to spread the word about safer sex have gotten the message out to us healthy because we played safe and never got infected.

But WE SHALL NEVER LET OUR GUARD DOWN. Use foreplay, USE A CONDOM, be imaginative,
NEVER DO DRUGS. Keep it sane, sexy and consensual. These rules are this Daddy's playbook. We are responsible for ourselves as well as our buddies.   Don't slip into any boundaries of unsafe sex, always assume that everyone else is HIV +, but always slip on a condom.  We need you hot hairy dudes to give us your wisdom and your intelligence, your being, your love for life.

A Man Daddy Promise to Never Neglect Others However old or bitter, and Honor Our Proud GayPeers

I'm taking this pledge and asking other Man Daddies to do so, because of the passing today of a particular gay icon, Gore Vidal.
First, I would like to briefly honor Gore Vidal. Eugene Luther Gore Vidal was a liberal American author, playwright, essayist, screenwriter, and political activist who happened to be gay.

The City and the Pillar caused a furor for its dispassionate presentation of homosexuality. From the net, I learned Vidal confirmed that his St. Albans-era love, James "Jimmy" Trimble III, killed in the Battle of Iwo Jima on March 1, 1945was the only person he had ever loved. This was the first gay book I had ever read, and I borrowed from my school's library. I later read his historical novels and fell in love with his writing style, in "Lincoln" and especially "Burr".

I lifted the following piece from Wikipedia:

In 1968, ABC News invited Vidal and William F. Buckley, Jr. to be political analysts of the Republican and Democratic presidential conventions. Verbal and nearly physical combat ensued. After days of mutual bickering, their debates degraded to vitriolic, ad hominem attacks. During discussions of the 1968 Democratic National Convention protests, the men were arguing about freedom of speech in regards to American protesters displaying a Viet Cong flag when Vidal told Buckley to "shut up a minute" and, in response to Buckley's reference to "pro-Nazi" protesters, went on to say: "As far as I'm concerned, the only sort of pro-crypto-Nazi I can think of is yourself." The visibly livid Buckley replied, "Now listen, you queer. Stop calling me a crypto-Nazi, or I'll sock you in the goddamn face and you'll stay plastered." After an interruption by anchor and facilitator Howard K. Smith, the men continued to discuss the topic in a less hostile manner. Buckley later expressed regret for having called Vidal a "queer," but nonetheless described Vidal as an "evangelist for bisexuality."

What an impression these ten nights of TV made on me as a ten year old kid. I never thought men could fight literally with their tongues.  Hey, I was just a kid, but listening to them somehow started to make me think differently of who I was, and after reading The City and  the Pillar as a young teenager, everything fell into place.

But I am saddened to read that Mr. Vidal, my icon, lived to be a very bitter old man in his last months. What changes a man that way, who was the center of the political and social circles for most of his life.

As gay man daddies, we need to pledge to both ourselves, our manbuds, our fuckbuds, our forever buds, that we WILL NOT change one molecule of our "gay being" for being caring, always supportive, and being the absolute best mandudes we can be. Don't ever disappoint yourself or others.

We got a reputation to maintain, as we honor those who led the battles before us. Let's continue to contribute to our daily lives as gay men who will always continue to "give a damn" and be our best to both ourselves and others. We are a tribe, we need to carry on the tradition, we need to never forget we are a great society of brave, sexual, men, who don't ever let ourselves down or others. That's our rule, our motto, to live every day who we are, how we feel the inner goodness of our souls, and fight the good fight.

The Erection Angle. Face it, as We Gay Man age, the pole position isn't always stiff and upright

Yep, guys, gay men pride themselves in their ability to perform.  It's just the way we were put together.

But the more the guy matures into manhood, that stiff erection doesn't always stand at attention as it once did.

Definitely a fact of life for all of us gay men.

But leaving the drugs out of it, foreplay will always save the day. I guarantee it. So do these hot dudes.
